From applications we've received so far, it looks like we should have been a bit more clear in the instructions. I don't normally reveal this much of the evaluation criteria, but I don't suppose it can hurt anything to de-mystify the process.
We expect cards to be made for the call. Since I won't be seeing the cards in person, I need to verify some things about potential designers: 1) can you follow directions precisely, 2) do you have tools and skills to provide useful digital images, 3) can you turn around high quality, creative cards in a short time, 4) are you comfortable with open-line images, 5) are open-line images your preference.
Also, I'd like to get a sense of your personality from your introduction (brief bio), as well as what you might bring to the team should you be selected (why you would be a good addition to the team vs. why you desire to be on the team).
If you've already submitted your application, and wish to resubmit new images, we'll be happy to evaluate a revised submission.
Good luck. Thank you for taking the time to prepare thoughtful submissions. I look at each one personally and carefully.

Thanks for the clarifications!
I'm having a lot of trouble emailing you my application. It keeps bouncing back. I hope things get fixed soon before the deadline.
